Johnny Scotello

head Coach

Johnny Scotello is the Head Coach for Tenneseee Hockey. He holds a Level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certification.  Johnny previously coached the University of Tampa Spartans for five seasons, helping them to reach regional and national rankings. Johnny's personal hockey experience includes playing at elite levels including U17, Midgets, College, and Seniors. 



Coach Swinea is entering his first year with the Ice Vols.  He holds a Level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certification. Coach Swinea currently coaches and is entering his third year with the Tennessee Outlaws team in the Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey (GNASH) league.  Other coaching duties in Nashville have included Ensworth High School , Music City Marauders AA travel team and two years with the Nashville Jr. Preds.  Coach Swinea served as a Sports Information Director at Bethel University in West Tennessee; stepping away from that, he started the roller hockey team that competes in the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA).  In the first year, playing Division II, they team won the Southeast Region and made it to the final four at the national tournament.  In the second season the team was bumped up to Division I and the team captured the 2012 National Championship.  Coach Swinea was a member of The University of Alabama – Huntsville Chargers ice hockey team for two years.  He is excited at the opportunity and hopes he can help the team improve and reach high goals.

Andrej Buchko

Assistant Coach

Andrej Buchko is entering in his first year as Assistant Coach with Tennessee Hockey. He is a current graduate student at the University of Tennessee. Before coaching, he played for Concordia-Minnesota in the NCHA and also played in the NCAA D3.
